This is one of my favorite images – It’s in my Kimberley book on page 176. It was taken from a helicopter after days torrential rain in the Kimberley a few years ago.

Excellent stuff mate, we’re on the same wavelength here. I was going to email you about this , it is my favorite picture out of both books. I was looking at his last night and had to keep going back to it.
It’s on my list of must do’s, to get up tp there in the wet season.
Yep the best time up in the Kimberley is during a good wet season. Sure it’s hot and really humid but the place is just buzzing with life! Cheers mate
Dave
Great shot david!
Man i’ve gotta get out and see the rest of Australia.. It’s killing me!
Far out thats allot of water pumping over the falls right there…
It’s all our backyard Bryce. The Kimberley is full of waterfalls. You just need a helicopter to get to many of them!
Cheers
Dave
Merv has told me about your book and if this image is an indication of whats in it, it must be bloody good. I love everything about this shot.
When is the best time to be up there in your opinion ? the beginning of the wet or the tale end and when are we going. ha ha.
Cheers Pete…
I might be biased but I reckon the Kimberley book is a cracker! The middle of the Wet is the best time if you want waterfalls raging river etc. But nothing stays dry and the humidity can be aweful esp when camping out. Early dry season the weather is better and there is lots of water but I reckon that real wilderness mood is absent. Drop me a line if you’re interested in grabbing a copy of the book.
Pack your bags cause I wanted to go yesterday! He he
Cheers
Dave
Hey , you’re not going without me !!!!
Wow Stunning shot Dave, love it.
Cheers William. It’s been one of my faves for a very long time!
That is stunning Dave, very inspiring.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
No worries mate!
Beautiful shot Dave, that little puff of cloud is the icing on the cake.
Cheers Michael. I almost fell out of the chopper when I saw it!
Whoa, like this one….a lot
Hmmm me too!
brilliant mate
I seem to jag one now and then!
Fantastic shot Dave. Love that low cloud in the shot adds another perspective to an already visual feast of a shot.
Cheers Matt. For me this shot sums up the wet season in the Kimberley.
Magic shot Dave ! I have seen a few of this spot in the past and it looks unreal. This is sublime with the misty cloud forming/rising in those humid conditions !
Thanks Tony. I’m always looking for something different and unusual.
wow now that’s a waterfall aint it!
stunning man 🙂
Indeed it was! If only the Darling Range had waterfalls like that!
Thanks Stephen.
Nailed that one bud for sure…its got everything going on in all the right places.
I think you’re becoming an artist!!
Cheers,
Mark
Hey Mark nature put all those magic elements into the landscape. I just set the aperture and opened the shutter!
Cheers
Dave
Gee that sounds so easy Dave ……. why can’t I do that !!!!
Hi Merv I reckon if you were in the chopper too you would get a shot like that as well!
