This is one of my favorite images  – It’s in my Kimberley book on page 176.  It was taken from a helicopter after days torrential rain in the Kimberley a few years ago.

  1. Excellent stuff mate, we’re on the same wavelength here. I was going to email you about this , it is my favorite picture out of both books. I was looking at his last night and had to keep going back to it.

It’s on my list of must do’s, to get up tp there in the wet season.

    • Yep the best time up in the Kimberley is during a good wet season. Sure it’s hot and really humid but the place is just buzzing with life! Cheers mate

  2. Great shot david!
Man i’ve gotta get out and see the rest of Australia.. It’s killing me!
Far out thats allot of water pumping over the falls right there…

  3. Merv has told me about your book and if this image is an indication of whats in it, it must be bloody good. I love everything about this shot.
When is the best time to be up there in your opinion ? the beginning of the wet or the tale end and when are we going. ha ha.

    • Cheers Pete…
I might be biased but I reckon the Kimberley book is a cracker! The middle of the Wet is the best time if you want waterfalls raging river etc. But nothing stays dry and the humidity can be aweful esp when camping out. Early dry season the weather is better and there is lots of water but I reckon that real wilderness mood is absent. Drop me a line if you’re interested in grabbing a copy of the book.
Pack your bags cause I wanted to go yesterday! He he
