Abrolhos Islands

I was up in the Mid West for a few days so I jumped at the chance to get some shots of the Abrolhos Islands. Amazing colours and textures make for some great compositions. This is one of my favourites but I do have a mountain of other shots to work through. More to come soon.

  1. Sweet shot mate…I reckon lighten the foreground just a tad…great colours!

  3. Yep…gold!

  4. Cool shot, no problems.

  5. Looks amazing and alluring Dave !

  6. Quite stunning, gold mate! Where is this, google maps is not helping me?

Btw, two posts in a week, don’t stress yourself out πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

    • Off Geraldton (north of Perth) mate. There are 3 groups to the Abrolhos. Pelsaert, Easter and Wallaby. Lots of low-lying coral islands surrounded by large coral reefs. There are hundreds of cray fisherman’s shacks out there but access is apparently heavily restricted even to the shack owners. I’ll most another tomorrow with some shacks. They look pretty cool from the air.

  7. Looks like you’ve got the money shot there Dave.

  8. Lovely colours. Great capture, Dave. Were these shots captured on the Phase?

    • Cheers Paul. Yea they were. This one was with the 80mm Schneider and the one above was with the 150mm Phase. The shacks on the islands are sooooo sharp. You can see everything in the full res image. Window frames, aerials, even corrugations!
      Cheers
      Dave

  9. Magic shot Dave, i’ll put my hand up to go with you next time you head up there
