Canon 100mm f2.8 macro for sale

Hi all

I’m selling my Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens.

I’ve had it for about a year and has only been used a few times. It is in like new condition. Was bought in Australia and has all original packaging.

This shot of a bobtail lizard was taken with lens a couple of months ago.

I’ll take $450.00 for it.

Cheers and see you on the True North tomorrow!

Dave

  1. Great lizard pic Dave, Sorry the macro isn’t any good to me but it looks like it’s reasonably priced for the quality of the images.
Don’t get sea sick tomorrow will you. Have a good day.

    Cheers Pete.

  2. Just thought I would drop in and say that 450 for this lens is an absolute bargain. Im sure you will have no problems selling it. Ill catch ya tomorrow Dave.

  3. If I didn’t have one I’d buy it myself.

How did you pull up you old salty dog ?

    • Yea not too bad. Was still a bit queazy this morning though! Sounds like you and I weren’t the only ones with the crook stomachs!
Great trip though. Learnt a couple of new things which wasn’t half bad either.
      Cheers mate

  4. Great shot Dave.
I swerve to avoid these guys everyday.
I am contemplating the 100mm f/2 prime for landscape panoramas, used it before Dave?

    Cheers,
    Tom

    • Cheers Thomas. I’ve only used the 100 for panoramas a couple of times. I do find it a bit long for my liking. I either use a 24, 50 or the long end of my 24-70mm for stitching. I am thinking of buying the 85mm though.
      Cheers

      • cheers,
I found coming from the 1.6x crop on the 40D to a full frame I have struggled a bit with composition, so I have ended up using my 70-200mm 2.8 using the focal length between 70-100 for stitching. But that lens is a bastard to carry.

  5. Hey Dave, one place that has been great for me to move a lens in the past is PRA imaging in Perth. Speak to Brendon, I sold my canon 10-22 for $800 within days of speaking with him, so if your keen to move your lens get on to them.
    cheers Adrian

    • Thanks for the tip Adrian. I just sold the lens today. I should be getting the new 100 macro next week. Can’t wait. Have you been using the new one?
      Cheers
      Dave

  6. Oh well there you you go mate, all good, its a good feeling when you move a lens you dont want taking room in your camera bag, especially when you have a nice shiny black beast with a red L series ring around it ! hehehe
I havent used the new 100mm, however I look forward to your posts. Im after the new 70-200 L IS f/2.8 USM II
    Cheers Adrian

  7. I reckon the 70-200 will be my next lens too. I don’t normally like zooms but I reckon I might make an exception for that one. Having said that I have a 135mm which I don’t use much so I might see if I can offload that one first!
    Cheers mate

  8. G’day Dave – I think I’ve finally worked which Dave was which on the boat now. Should’ve said hello but could see you were hangin’ out with bad company.

    • Well it’s about time the legendary Muzz stopped by my blog. Yea 1000 apologies I didn’t say hi on the boat. I saw you talking to the Mervman on the way back to Perth but I was really crook with motion sickness! My partner reckons I was white as! Yea so sorry mate!
So where’s your blog Muzz? I thought I was the last one on Earth to get one!
      Cheers
      Dave

  9. Dave, sorry I didn’t say Hi too, but I didn’t click as to which Dave was you 🙂 Maybe we need a get-together for the bloggers out (t)here? PS: Lovely bobtail shot. PPS: If you’re looking at the 70-200, have a serious look at the f/4 IS…

  10. hey Dave saw your talk at the light fantastic, definitely the best segment of the day. I was gonna come introduce myself after but had to leave early! daaamn. Oh well, great speech, especially after Glennon’s safari ad pitch 🙂

    • Yea I really enjoyed Denis’ speech. He’s very passionate and his knowledge on Africa and photo gear is exceptional! I reckon if I was to go to Africa he’d be the one to ask for advice etc.

You should have introduced yourself Sean!! Oh well maybe next time… Cheers for the compliment !!

      Dave

  11. Waiting …… 🙂

  12. Is it still for sale? I have finally sold my spare 1D MKIIN body and get the deposit tomorrow so this might be possible for me, I’ve been after one for a while.
