Here’s another view of the majestic King George Falls. Taken from True North’s helicopter.

King George Falls is surely the Kimberley’s most spectacular waterfall. There is nothing like being here. The roar of the water is deafening as the twin falls crash 80 metres into a dramatic sea gorge.

Mark, Flemming and I all had different itineraries on this particular day but we all managed to meet up at the edge of a spectacular precipice directly in front of the falls. Flemming stated that this place was the “Perfect office”. Not wrong there mate!

I’ve just got back from a 4 day assignment out on the Nullarbor Plain. My brief was very open and included landscapes, aerials and wildlife. Everything I love!

On the 2nd afternoon we were treated to an awesome Nullarbor sunset and this quintessential Australian outback shot is the result!

Here’s a favourite of mine taken on the recent Kimberley trip.

In the far northwest Kimberley the presence of monsoon rainforest is not only due to high rainfall but also to the absence of fires. Nestled between turquoise sea and spectacular sandstone the rainforest is totally protected from the frequent wildfires that sweep across the eucalypt dominated savanna above. Remarkably the plants found within this niche habitat are more closely related with those of the jungles of South East Asia than with those of the Australian outback.

This saltwater crocodile was so curious of our tender and wasn’t afraid of us getting pretty close. I really like the direct eye contact.

As True North cruised through Prince Frederick Harbour everyone was enjoying a gourmet lunch. I could see that a storm was brewing and already had my gear at the ready at the bow of the boat. I quickly  finished lunch and went outside and was taken back by the awesome storm TN was steaming towards. I quickly took a few shots and raced back to the dinning room to gather the troops. I found True North Mark but alas Flemming was apparently nowhere to be seen. Before long almost everyone was at the bow and in awe of the storm. Flemming too eventually showed himself amazed at how both Mark and I had failed to find him in the dining room. I swear I did not see you mate!

Taken from the bow of True North. There were spectacular cloud formations as we steamed through Saint Gorge Basin. We were all pretty impressed with the sky show and the sunset was also one of the best!

Mark, Flemming and I enjoyed a morning shoot at this pristine location before a vigorous climb to a rock overhang containing some of the Kimberley’s most amazing Wandjina rock art. I first visited this magnificent place a few years ago and loved returning here once more.

No actually they are indeed legends in their own right. On the left is Greggy Munyard, one of the funniest blokes you will ever meet. And that’s not because he’s a Nikon user! Mate you had me in stitches for two weeks. On centre stage is none other than international man of mystery Flemming Bo Jenson. On the right looking smug is superstar Markie Stothard – the guy who makes everything happen aboard the True North! Well he does own the boat after all!

Montgomery Reef was simply amazing from the air. Abstracts were everywhere. It seemed as though all you had to do was point the camera downwards and push the shutter.
